We spend a significant amount of time researching new products when designing any project.  Innovations made by manufacturers can open up a whole new array of solutions to our design challenges.  This is especially true at Misty Mill’s deck and boat house.  We knew that we needed a composite decking solution since these boards would be consistently subjected to the water and weather.  But we also wanted to address just how HOT decking can get!  MoistureShield’s new Vision capped wood composite boards with their innovative CoolDeck® technology was just the right product to protect our three little sets of feet running around in the hot Georgia summers.  This amazing technology can reduce heat transfer by up to 35% making it more comfortable to go barefoot even in some of the warmest weather.  Oh, and those cute sets of feet we mentioned earlier…well they are also great at making messes and tearing things up.  But MoistureShield Vision decking is protected by their DiamondDefense coating to resist scratches, stains, and damage on impact!

We love this product so much that when we were at the International Builders Show in Vegas this past January, we had to stop by the MoistureShield booth and give some in-person testimonials.

MoistureShield’s booth was amazing…and not just because it had pictures of Misty Mill in it 😉  although that did provide a great opportunity for Chip to explain how the solid core technology creates an impermeable barrier to fight damage from moisture which we put to the test at Misty Mill with the submerging deck platforms!  Chip did a couple of Facebook Lives to show off their “Feel the Difference” comparing CoolDeck boards to competitive composite decking products and to show how seamlessly MoistureShield compliments other Oldcastle APG outdoor products like Belgard pavers and firepit kits to complete an inspiration outdoor living design.
