With so many custom elements to be hand crafted by Chip and the design team, one of Misty Mill’s first priorities was to create a proper workspace for all the magic to happen! An existing small metal shed was on the verge of collapsing so our team decided to demo the shed and start from scratch. Once the concrete pad was poured, a team from American Steel Carports erected a two-car metal garage within three days. With 12’ ceilings and two 10’x10’ roll-top doors, the garage quickly became the hub of the renovation receiving daily shipments of products, materials and equipment. And to keep a watchful eye over all those valuable goods being organized and stored in the garage, the team installed a multi-camera Ring security system which easily integrated into Misty Mill’s other smart home systems.
With the structure in place, the team added both personality and extra-functionality by installing 2’x4’ prefinished plywood panels by Columbia Forest Products in a brickwork pattern, a flood of lighting from Kichler and power outlets from Legrand throughout. To accentuate the Summer Camp feel of the property, the team painted a custom mural on the lake side garage wall to welcome visitors and provide a gentle reminder that when you’re here, it’s time to play!
